After I read "Dangerous Girls" and absolutely loved it, I knew I wanted to read this book as well. It is not a series or a continuation of the other book in any way. It completely stands alone on its own. This book was a very twisted, interesting read. It is about a girl named Chloe who has to deal with her depressed mother after her parents divorce. She aches for freedom, she already made plans to go to college with her best friend and has to end up staying and helping her helpless mother. She meets Ethan, who is new in town, and quickly finds a distraction from her gloomy every day life with him. She ends up in a close relationship with Ethan, who is sweet and loving to her and their relationship. Then, she meets his big brother back from college named Oliver. He sets something aflame inside her, he brings out all of her resentment and bitterness about her life and situation and starts to change her from the good, sweet girl she was to a darker, free version of herself. She starts an affair on the side with Oliver, and has to keep it a secret while still dating Ethan and dealing with her mother. Things start to go wrong as the situation gets twisted and dark.I really enjoyed this book. It had a lot of turns and twists, I was hooked. I actually finished this book in one sitting because I had to keep reading and find out what happened next. It had a very interesting plot in my opinion. It was easy to relate with all of the characters, especially Chloe who changed gradually as the story unfolded. I liked Oliver best out of the boys, but Ethan was the loving, supportive one so it made me feel guilty while reading. I started to really dislike Chloe as the book progressed, she started treating Ethan really badly and not being appreciative of what she had in life.
Over all, I really enjoyed this book. I look forward to purchasing more of her books. I still prefer "Dangerous Girls" because the ending was outstanding, I actually got shivers as I read the last page. This ending was great too, just sad and not as wrapped up. But it was a great read that I would recommend!

Dangerous Boys edition by Abigail Haas Children eBooks Reviews
“You can never really know someone.” “We’re all strangers in the end.”
Holy smokes!!! Another incredible read by Abigail! Full of suspense and anticipation there was no way I could put this book down once I started it. I was anxious and on the edge of my seat waiting to see how everything unfolded. The manipulation, the twists; it’s fast paced and will have your blood pumping.
The writing style is amazing and the writing is fantastic. You’re there in every moment. It’s intense and exciting.
“A heartbeat, a split-second’s whim, that’s all it takes to change your life forever. But what happens when you get it wrong? When you feel the sigh of the knife sliding in, and hear the low, pained gasp; disbelief in his eyes that he could misjudge you so completely; the sticky wet smear of red on your hands. What happens when you realize in that sick, bloodied moment-no, no, no!- that you can’t take it back? You chose wrong.”
Don’t miss this fantastic story! Wow, what a rush!
“He underestimated me. They always did.”
As a standalone novel, it's not bad at all. A little bit easy to figure out what happened from the very beginning, but otherwise, not bad. I didn't like Chloe, but there's no rule that says the main character has to be likable. However... compared to Dangerous Girls, this is nowhere near as good. At the end of Dangerous Girls I shouted out loud and woke up my husband. This one, I just felt 'meh.' So, as a standalone book, I'd give it 4 stars. As a book by the author of Dangerous Girls, it gets 2.
After the fabulous f**ked upness of Dangerous Girls I was excited to learn Haas was writing Dangerous Boys. It's a stand alone, completely unrelated to DG so you can start with either. But I recommend both. DB is in the same Then and Now writing style as DG. You know right from the start the bad thing that's happened so now you just need to strap yourself in and enjoy the ride.
Chloe is excited to move out of her boring town and head off to college. But complications with her mother from her dad taking off force Chloe to defer college because she's needed at home. Community college and a nice, good looking boy named Ethan offer Chloe a distraction while she's stuck.
When Ethan's brother, Oliver, suddenly shows up back in town Chloe's feathers are ruffled. He's smart and arrogant. He's selfish and he's been all over the world. Chloe is drawn to him. But it's not just physical attraction. They see the same darkness the restlessness in each other.
Don't worry. This isn't some annoying love triangle. It's much bigger than that.
My only criticism would be that since it is written in the same style you know there is going to be a last chapter twist so I wasn't that shocked. It was still amazing but I wasn't shocked.
A great read. Well done!
I think after Dangerous Girls that this author tried hard to add suspense and trick the reader in this book, but it didn't quite play out that way. At the point where you would expect something to have taken a turn you don't see coming, the book starts to unravel detail after detail hoping to keep you guessing but ultimately leaving you disappointed that what you've already predicted is exactly whats happened. There are things you don't see coming but they're so small and irrelevant that it makes you wonder if the author actually believed those were good enough crumbs to leave you satisfied. I wouldn't recommend but if you haven't read Dangerous Girls yet, that one is decent
