Matefinder Volume 1 Leia Stone Books

There is so much crammed into one book I don't even know where to begin.

**MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD**

First, let's start with the fact that she gets in a horrible, grizzly accident and wakes up the next day is like, 'yup, I was on the brink of death last night, but it's ok because I already know I'm a werewolf, and I'm completely fine with that.' Then, that very same day, she like 'yup, I'm the second in command and I'm ok with that.' But wait, she's still in secure because of her terrible past and has "panic attacks" that don't seem to really bother her and disappear in the next paragraph. And let's not mention that she's also the Matefinder, who only finds mates occasionally because she's too busy also being a witch! But wait there's more, she also can talk to a Native American spiritual leader on the spirit plain whenever she wants. One minute she has life altering new delivered to her and the next she's completely fine with it. It just feels like no matter what happens, on the next page everything will be fine and nothing really matters.

I really want to like this book but there is too much going on to really appreciate the "love" that Kai and Aurora supposedly feel for each other. It's just not believable that they are mates.

There is so much story crammed into one book, it feeling incredibly rushed and poorly written.

Matefinder Volume 1 Leia Stone Books Reviews

I was looking for an audible book to listen to during a trip out of state when I came across ‘Matefinder’ by Leia Stone, and it sounded promising. The first thing I noticed about the story was that it was really face paced. In fact, the very first chapter the main character meets her love interest, crashes her car, is turned into a werewolf and is made second in the pack. The story line goes so fast that you lose the character development, and you feel that you are reading about strangers. The fast pace of the book also makes it hard to get into the romance of the story. They are automatically attracted to each other, they become mates quickly, and then they are in love…no real development on it.
That being said, I really enjoyed the story. Though there was some overlay corny parts (staring contest), I found it to be a charming story with lots of action. The main character was a hard core and I loved it. The only thing that would have made it better was if she was not a witch. I think the witch part just was too much. I also loved how the Alpha of the pack was badass and protected his pack, but also pretty chill with his them and treated them like a family. The battle between with the vampires keeps you engaged, especially with the poising the water.
I feel that the story is worth the read and looking forward to see where the writer takes us.
For some reason I thought we'd get a bit more before the car accident. Was disappointed that we did not. The writing in this book feels really awkward to me and I'm not 100% sure why. I disliked the fact that Aurora is immediately OK with everything after being turned into a werewolf. Without any time to adjust she's then thrown into dominance challenges (it's staring not fighting, but really?) She has an instant bff and "enemy", a mate, magical powers, and danger thrown after her. I find Aurora far too willing to embrace everything, which is written off by her curiosity; it never feels like she's unsure or even hesitant. I understand wanting a strong h but she just joined an entirely new culture (that she's never heard of) and she's making decision for the group left, right and center. Her Alpha is not Alpha at all. I found it really hard to connect with any characters in the story as everything felt rushed. I like the differences from traditional werewolf stories, and the idea of a Matefinder. The storyline was interesting but not solid enough for me. I wish the author had taken time to explore everything a little more. To express emotions with a more tangible reason behind them. The fight scenes really had some potentially if we'd had a slightly wider view.

It was just too much, too fast, too little emotion, with an h that has way to much control in what should be multiple difficult and life changing situations.
When i first read the synapsis of this book i thought it would be about a girl who was everyones mate or something weird like that but it turns out its not about that. Its about a girl who will help to save a dwindling werewolf species and help wolves find their soul mate and be able to have kids and a family to call their own. And the book deals with violence and abuse a little bit without it making the book to rough for teens to read about. It was awesome, it was fast paced and adorable and there werent even inappropriate details. I highly recommend if you enjoy wolf books with a girl who is dominant and powerful and the guy loves her evn more for it!
I just couldn't get into this book. I stopped reading at about 30%. I couldn't reconcile how quickly the female lead accepted her new situation and I didn't like how we kept getting "told" about her past, rather than "shown". I didn't really feel the chemistry between the two leads either. This would probably be better suited to a younger age group
I'm torn on how to review this.
I did like it enough to finish the book, but at times it was a bit over the top for me. This flowed almost too fast to keep up with the info. There are some places in the story that make no sense, and some areas that need more background info to be able to figure things out. I felt the main heroine character, Aurora was a bit odd & emotionless, & hard for me to like. I didn't really feel Kai was a fantastic hero character, he really didn't come across well as an alpha male character for me. Kai really didn't show any interest in Aurora running into her at the store before the accident, but when she's laying dying it's a different story I guess, I just couldn't process that. The fact that Aurora keeps getting more powers/abilities just in a nick of time for the story line- were all to convenient to go over well in my mind. Not only is she a matefinder, but a seeress, a witch, a werewolf, and over all super freak. Doubt I'll read the next book.
