The Drowned Laini TaylorDi Bartolo Jim Di Bartolo Books
I must admit, the thought of spending $50 for a graphic novel did not initially appeal to me. However, I sucked it up and went ahead with the purchase. I couldn't have been more pleased! This is a dark tale written by Laini Taylor (one of my favorite authors) and drawn by her husband, Jim Di Bartolo. The story itself, as I mentioned, is dark, but there are a few funny moments thrown in to take a bit of the edge off. Thoroughly enjoyable, with a bit of an opening for a sequel, as well!

The Drowned Laini TaylorDi Bartolo Jim Di Bartolo Books Reviews
Beautiful art, engaging story.
I'm not typically a fan of period horror, but this book grabed me right away. I loved every moment. Great pacing, the dialogue was crisp and not overly flowery (sometimes a problem with period stuff)
I will definately be keeping an eye out for more books by Jim and Lani
I am not really a big fan of comic books, but this one is a real treat. The art is beautiful, story pacing is right and the end is unexpected and very exciting. All in all this book is a perfect mix of hope, despair and mystery. Great job Laini and Jim. By the way the official "The Drowned" website is here - [...]
I have been READING comic books seriously since 1986, and in 20 years I can honestly say that this is one of the best combinations of writing and art I've ever picked up. This team has the potential to be one of the greats. A "must own".
